Talking *want to work on my porsche?

My car is a 1987 924s and I live in Baltimore MD. I am willing to travel a small distance to have work done, but NOT at a shop. But by someone who has a love for these cars and would like to make some extra coin.

Here is what I need done:

Timing belt
Water pump
Front brakes
hose for my powersteering pump
transmission fluid and filter swap

If this is of interest to you and you can do this work please email me at ric_peters@yahoo.com

Thanks!

If you wanna take a road trip to Cincinnati... there is a huge amount of 944 talent in these parts.

I am not sure about traveling to Ohio. But I am still looking from anyone in the MD/DC/VA/PA area. I can justify traveling about 2-3 hours for someone who

1. does not own a shop
2. is going to charge me a fair price to do the work
3. will let me bring my own parts

I have yet to hear from anyone via my email to do the work.

amazing. All this talent on these boards and not one taker.

What if the belt breaks after only 5,000 miles? Did you bring a bad part or did the person doing the work damage it? I like to work on my own car but I only "help" with others. (in exchange for beer) perhaps others are the same way. But if you assume there is no guarantee of the work I am sure you will get some takers. I am guessing your car has an AT?

I used to do belts for people here on the forum, but started thinking exactly the way judd mentioned. I am putting myself in a bad position for liability if something goes wrong down the line. I will offer to help and offer my advice, but wont be 'paid' to work on there car anymore. Come to think of it i even thought to ask people in the future to sign a wavior that says its not my fault if **** hits the fan. I like to help people, but dont want to get screwed in the process.

Its a shame you are so far away.. i would be more than happy to help you with your car in my spare time.
