Default spark plug wires

has anyone tried other brands of wires. seems like Magnacore is the only one i've seen. what about using a generic wire and adding the correct caps to it?

I run Clewett wires on mine and love them.

You can use generic wires available from a local supplier (mix and match). They work fine but won't look as great as the factory replacements.

Just replace the wire between the connectors. The ends of the wires have a threaded cap staked to them. Try www.kingsborne.com for the wires with the caps or buy the wire locally and buy the caps from them. Need to make a tool to properly stake the caps to the wires.
