Great New Addition (PICS)
Just purchased this on Ebay. Took a chance on this off-brand. It replaced my MOMO Club IV that was too nice for a track car. I like this much better than even the MOMO Mod 78. Very thick rim. Good for 9 & 3 or 10 & 2 position.

How did you hook up your shift light?!? and what "off brand" is it? NRG makes some good stuff, but they market more to the japanese cars. They are still good products (i just got their quick release).
still that looks great! How do you like the D shape? i was going to get one till someone told me they are a little weird to get used to.

brake, clutch-in, change gear, gas, clutch out, release brake.
Allows you to brake closer into the corner. It can also help you in emergency situations.
Say you need to slam on the brakes on the highway, and then take of real quick. You can change gears during the emergency stop and then stomp on the gas to get out of there before someone rear-ends you.

The wheel is indeed NRG...$88 I believe..am super happy with it. Have no problem with the D ring as I do not shuffle steer. The wood is an old racer trick. Works like aftermarket pedals..'cept about $149 less and works better. Oh, and there is really no need to "Double Clutch" anymore d/t syncromesh gearboxes..just takes more time.

The alacantra wheel looks good and I like the block of wood. My pedal rides fairly high so it's a little awkward to heel toe on the street but on the track it seems to line up about where I like it when I'm pushing harder.
Heel/toe is a bit of a misnomer, as others have said it's really 'ball of foot/side of foot'. If you're not matching revs you ain't doin' it right! As a side note, I've heard that the phrase heal/toe came about from way back in the day when the accelerator was in the middle and the brake pedal was on the right. With that arrangment the term 'heel/toe' makes more sense.
Dr. Porsche, to post pics:
- Click on Upload Pics in upper righthand side of screen
- Click on Login to Upload (login if necessary)
- Click on 'Please Click Here to Upload Picture'
- Navigate to wherever on your hard drive the picture is stored
- Click Upload File
- Copy the link it creates to the clipboard (highlight and hit CTRL C)
- Create your message using Go Advanced
- Click on the image tag (yellow square icon that looks like mountains/sun)
- Paste the link you copied from clipboard (hit CTRL V)
- Click OK
That looks and sounds WAY worse than it is. That method lets you post pics up to 200k, which doesn't completely solve the problem but does give you a little more headroom. You can also place the pictures anywhere in your post and see them in Preview Post.

gregeast...thanks for the info...much easier than I did, much appreciated.
The term "Heel -Toe" I think...originated when the Gas pedal was in the middle!
When I wear my racing/driving shoes..it is a bit of a stretch to roll to the pedal so I added the 1x4. In the past I did not wear driving shoes during DE, but once while instructing I caught the inside of my running shoe on the side of the brake pedal transitioning to the gas. Not that big a deal, went about 5' deeper into the corner than I had been going. But my student grabbed for every handle he could find and white as a ghost
