Default 944 A/C issues

Hello, I am not familiar with how the A/C works on the 944. When I bought the car, the previous owner said that it was only the blower that was damaged.... but Im confused at how many blowers the car actually has. I have a 87 944 with the updated dash. Is the blower located in the engine compartment before the windshield or the glove compartment, or both? When I press buttons on the control unit it does nothing at all...... What specific things should I start to trouble shoot. I checked the eye and its black..... is that good? Also are there any relays I should change. I also noticed that the heater assembly is no longer connected to the car.... I guess they removed it... I see no lines running from the engine to the blower assembly. I dont think it matters to me because I live in hot Miami, FL, but will I need the heater inorder for the A/C to work. I dont think my car has been converted to the updated freon..... So should I buy the conversion kit at autozone, or have a specialist trouble shoot the whole system...... I wish I had been there when my mom had bought the car 2 years ago. He said the engine had been rebuilt and not one dam thing had been done to it..... I had to rebuild the engine.... I think its worth, but now I am at the final area that I need to finish which is the A/C, oh and also the horn........ I would appreciate any advice.

What's wrong with the horn?

Have you tried pulling off the horn cover from the steering wheel and cleaning the contact wire? If that doesn't work, then you could always take out the horns from behind the left front wheel well and test them to see if they're working.

I dont really care for the horn, I had a small fire in the car and the lighting system and horn system stopped working..... I had the lighting fixed, but was never able to get the horn to work.... I am more concerned with the A/C
