Default quick blaupunkt question

I have a Blaupunkt New Orleans in my S2...works fine except the display does not light up....can I just buy ( ebay) a replacement face-plate?

I don't know much about that unit in particular, but my Alpine has a separate line for the display that you hook up to the car's dash lighting so it will dim when the lights come on at night - is it possible that that wire is unattached on your unit?

Is the New Orleans the CD125 version? If so, there is a faceplate on eBay right now - $40 "buy it now".

Andy

That's why I'm asking! I was going to replace the whole unit...but if I can get away with $40 in lieu of a few hundred plus my time to install, I'll do that!

best

Joe

Did your display used to work? Sounds like the blue illumination line might be disconnected or the respective pin on the back of the faceplate isn't contacting fully. I have the Blaupunkt Honolulu in mine. I'm going back to Kenwood, I'm tired of how often it skips on CD's. Great sound and controls for the 2 amps but really lousy shock dampening.

Since I've had the car ( just a few months) it has not worked....I can see the display during the day (albeit dim) but at nite it's totally black. I will have to check the back of the faceplate to see if the pins are ok.
