Burnt DME harness plug. Obvviosly not good, but is it safe?
It seems I've become a little depressed and bored with my 944 because of its no start condition. I've been waiting for my new reference sensor to arrive. One day, I was really bored and decided to take a peak at my DME. I unplugged it to find a suprise. The DME harness connector plug that plugs into the DME is BURNT.
What does that exact pin do?
Do you think it is safe to drive?

Just checked, pin 5 is ground on an 83. Somebody sure cooked that pin, the only way I could see that happening is someone cut the wire going to pin 5 and then connected power to the connector pin. Is there any metal left in the connector? There are other ground pins on the connector so it shouldn't effect the DME operation.

If you need another harness, I have a good one off of a 88 924S. Should work on a early car. The only thing that is different is the plug for the oil leverl sensor.
