hardwire headlights
Hey all,
So i would like to know how to hardwire the hearlights (on/off). I would assume there is a fuse somewhere that i can run a lead off of to a switch, and then run a ground to the switch as well. But which fuse and where is the fuse box?
sorry I'm new to the 944
the reason i want to do this is the switch on the dash no longer controls the lights/motor etc, and i figure I'll just wire it up myself. I have not spent a lot of time looking for any of the wiring so any pictures would be great!!
Also, this if for a race car, so i dont neef the motor to work, just the lights.
thanks!

If it's a race car, why do you need headlights?
And please don't take this as a flame, you're new here so I'd like to offer some advice. If something's broken, fix it properly.

Do the tail lights work? If so then I bet the issue is the headlight motor relay. This is found on the end of the head light motor. Simple to replace.
Eventhouugh I may have direct wired alot of things I would rather keep lights on the factory system. There are a bunch of lights and trouble shooting them is probably easier than messing with some hardwire system.
Then again I don't even have headlights.

haha, well I was going to take the motor out to save weight thats why i only want the lights.
So everyone does not think I'm nuts for having working headlights on a "race car" the reason why is there are some HPDE events the require a car with working headlights. That is to say that they DONT want race cars, and I'm trying to sneak by
I'm doing a few HPDE's to learn tracks and get more time in the car.

spaze.. you can fix the wiring problem and also pull the motor. I have see it done on other spec cars. No motor requiring manual flip up of the lights, but using stock wiring.

very nice, this is exactly what i would like. Alright, now i need to find the headlight relay, and see why it does not work.
If i turn on the lights, all the dash lights come on and the rears light up, but the head lights dont....
