Default Couple of AC recharge questions

My car has been converted to the new stuff. R134...something like that. I've never done one before. So how hard is it, and how do you recharge one? I know I have a leak somewhere. PO told me there was one. Is there some way I can find it? I know it's probably in the hoses. I once took a car to a shop and they said they put some kind of dye in them to find leaks. Thanks for any help.

you need a vaccum pump to evacuate it, then the hose kit to recharge, we got everything from harbor freight for less than $100. there is freon you can buy that has the new oil, leak detector (red dye) and freon all in it at once. i recharged mine and it worked for about a month, and it has a leak too oh well

If it has already been converted to R134, you don't need anything but the can of R134 to recharge it.

You can pickup a can with a gauge, and hose to charge it and that will be everything you need..for $12... not $100

just put it on the low side... the fitting on biggest pipe.. start the car.. turn on the A/C and fill it up.

Wizkid you live up north. You don't need AC.

How do I know when it's full? And does it hurt anything if I put in too much?

if you buy a kit with a gauge it will tell you when full...
but since its been converted ,any valvoline instant oil change place can charge and check for leaks pretty cheap...
