So i have posted twice about my problem with my 944 dieing. 4 1/2 weeks of trouble shooting every possible angle, i have come down to the simple fact that everything works, so i am left to assume that it is the DME computer. Bummer, quite pricey.. My question, is there any way of testing the actual DME itself? besides sticking it in another 944.(does any one here live close to Raleigh?)
Im in a better mood because i have run out of options along with the porsche dealership, autoatlanta and three local euro shops.

Open it up and start soldering. Fixes them 90% of the time.

I have a good DME from a 83 944 for sale. I picked up a spare and got a Wilk chip. took mine out when I got the chipped DME back. Big improvement with the Wilk chip

Find a friend with one and swap them. First, try the DME relay (if you haven't already).

Lots of 944 series cars around. Can't tell you how many items I've tested by finding another one and doing a quick "parts swap".
