I would be interested in knowing what subs will actually fit and work well in the .23 ft^3 box. I have a feeling getting real sub bass might be an issue.

Many subwoofers would work in a properly built sealed box of that size.

I can post a pic of the one that goes in the rear cubby if you still need it. Mine is out of the car.

I'd like to know what anyone recommends for this box specifically. I may take my friends KLA boxes, but they have Fosgates in them now.

Try the Fosgates out for awhile before you go shopping for something different!

If they are the older ones you shouldn't be dissapointed... They don't have jaw dropping output but they sound good

What about a couple Ascendant 6.5s on plates in the rear quarters? Hmmmm..... I bet output would be as much as a single 8 in a KLA box. Probably a little sloppy, though. Something to consider - and certainly cheap!

Well, i don't know about sloppy- they are designed for midbass, but they will work for mid/subbass allright.

Great little speakers, on the car audio website they get RAVE reviews, and the price is simply unbeatable. I am waiting on a debit card and I am buying a pair immediately.

Well, sloppy was very relative there. Tiny acoustic suspension enclosure vs. a infinite baffle mount.

Understood.

If you were to put them in, you could run some nice 4x6 plates as your full range and run the AA Poly's just full range and let the freq response of the speaker work as it's own x-over. I did this with a pair of kicker Freeair 8's in the doors of a Toyota pickup paired with a 4" component set and it sounded pretty good, the smaller speakers did their part and the larger 8" ones did theirs and it blended very well without a crossover on the 8's at all.. Basically the gain on the AA mids would be a little higher than on the plates to get a little more oomph out of them as they probably take more power.
