Default 968 value question

I am considering a 1994 968 that my friend is selling. It is Polar Silver with black leather interior and this car does NOT have the MO30 option. The car has 143K on it and is driven everyday during the warm season (no snow). The car is maintained perfectly and is owned by a former national concours winner (so it is perfect). She is asking $10K for the car. KBB has it at $9.5, but as I said this car is exceptional!!!! What do you all think? I need some advice on this, do I need a 4th Porsche? Thanks - Jay

No one ever NEEDS a 4th Porsche, but the car certainly sounds like a good buy -- probably should be selling at ~$13k if it's really in that great a shape. The problem with buying a car with that many miles on it is that non-enthusiasts stay away no matter how well maintained and pristine the car is, which makes it a thin market. I wouldn't buy it with the intension of selling it anytime soon.

Joe,
Thanks for the advice! I wouldn't be buying it to sell any time soon. I would want to have it as my street cars for years to come. I have a 911 (street), 914-6 (track) and a 924S (wife's track car) and I would really like something else to drive on the street besides the 911 (which I love). I don't know what I'll do. Don't feel to bad for me, it is a nice problem to have!!!!!!!!

+1 what Joe said.. Also the fact that it's Polar Silver is a plus to the value since its a sought-after and relatively rare color (and so pretty!) Since its a '94, it probably also has nice 993-style seats which also add to the value.

$10k sounds like a great deal on a 94. Go for it. Be a nice change of pace from the 911.

Yeah, it would be a nice car to drive that is for sure. It does have all the 993 items that you listed above and it has the 993 17's on it as well. Very pretty car. I'll see if I can get some pictures! Thanks guys. I am still up in the air on what to do.
