Default Instrument Cluster

A bulb blew in it, and I rather like those aluminum rings, so I figure if I'm going to be in there, why not? Unless anyone on here has had a bad experience with them??? Some bugs died in there too, so some cleaning is due.

In looking at the pelican parts tech article-
"http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/944_taillight/944_gauge_problems.htm"
It recommends removing the steering wheel, I have the airbag and it says nothing about it. You can probably understand my concern. Possible to work around it?

while you're in there use some low pressure aire to clean the gages, fuel, volts, water.

You can remove it without removing the steering wheel. It's a pain in the ***, and you'll have to fiddle around for a while, but I'd still say it's easier than removing the wheel. While the cluster is out, do not even put the key in the ignition. You can trip the air bag test stuff just because the clusted is out, and your air bag light will need to be reset, just like if you would have removed the steering wheel.

When you are sliding the culster out, be careful not to brake the plastic pin things that are on the cluster where the wires connect. Also be mindful of the dash, and the clear plastic in the front of the cluster. You'll be squeezing it through a tight spot.
