Default Running Rich

A question about running rich. The PO of my car had set it to run rich. He gave me a diagram to set it back to normal, or even run it lean. He described it as a fairly simple process. He said its a screw that needs to be turned, and depending on where its turned to sets it to either 0, +3, +6, -3, -6. Trouble is I cant seem to locate the screw. Did I miss something, or can I set the fuel mixture back to normal without to much trouble?

Why does something tell me that this is located in the DME box?

That would be the box located in the passanger side footwell correct? Is it really as simple as adjusting the screw? Or are there other factors I need to consider?

Yes, the screw is in that box. Pull the black plug filling a hole in it, and its a blue internal triangle head. I found little info online about setting CO%, etc... There are a few threads about it here though. I don't know which ones exactly, but do a search for related key words and you should find something useful. I set my mixture/idle with an EGA at work using that screw, the screw on the AFM, and the air bypass screw on the throttle body.

Also, check out http://clarks-garage.com, I think he has a page or two on realted issues.

I just played around with it this weekend. You need a special triangular tool to turn the switch...a 2.5mm or 3mm ( i cant remember which i used) allen key works well..just wedge it in. If you want to set it back to stock settings, go all the way CCW.
