Default cam + ignition advance?

Hey, i am looking into advancing my cam a little bit. After doing the top end and shaving the head flat (minimal taken off, i think it was .006) along with addinga miledge cam I am extremely happy with the results. The only problem being my power band pulls farther than my rev limiter will alow.
-I could get stiffer valve springs becasue I have the larger intake valves and a chip (most fun option, but also pricey)
- i could also advance the cam by 3.75deg with an offset woodruf key for about $6 (mercedes#621 991 04 67 found from previous rennlister) wich looks like the option i am going with.

the question is: since the cam gear is advanced, the rotor is advanced along with it, will this advane my timing? or does the flywheel pickup keep this in check and deliver the same ignition figures as before?

yes, lindsey racing also has an adjustable bank account feature with the cam gear!
thanks guys, it makes sense that the flywheel sensor overrides the rotor, I will report back if and when the woodruff key works out.
