Default Rennbay has Hella E-codes : )

So I was going through my 944 favorites and hit up Rennbay ... stumbled upon additional lighting stuffs from Travis. Ok, so he told me about them and I went and looked If I didn't already have a headlight arrangement (see avitar), I'd pick up a pair.

I'm not sure how many are availible, so who knows how long they'll be up for grabs.

I wrote a little "review" of his re-wiring harness for the headlights. Quality stuff Trav! Thanks for helping us not run into joggers, deer, and that sort of thing

If these aren't legal for road use, then SUVs shouldn't be legal for road use. Those damn things are always blinding me. I should get a set of these e-codes just to use as photon cannons.

The E codes wouldn't be that great for SUV payback though as they have a sharp cutoff that lights up the road but doesn't blind oncoming traffic. It's a pretty sweet setup.

They are here at the shop (frigin' pallet of them) but are not for sale on the site yet. I am going to post up some sale prices for the first couple of days sometime soon. Should be a pretty good deal as I need to move a bunch of these things so I have room to walk around again.

Travis-Will you have an option for the 80/100W bulbs as a sub for the 60/55W presently in the E code package?

Nope, the 60/55w ones come with the lenses. Just put them in your glove box as a spare set if you want the upgraded ones.

Thanks - I'll keep and eye open for your 'special'. Any luck on that beige vinyl sample you were going to send?

Sorry to highjack the thread,

Travis,

Are these lenses the same as what Iceshark was selling with his fullboat headlight wiring kit?

Thanks,

Andre

Nope, his were made by Cibi. When he was doing comparisons between the Hella and Cibi lenses he was using the Hella "Vision Plus" series as his Hella benchmark. They scored poorly against the Cibis because the Vision Plus is a DOT legal lenses. The real Hella E-codes are among the best E-code lenses you can get.
We have both types on the site now. The Hella Vision Plus (best DOT lenses you can get) and the Hella E-code (the best E-codes you can get).

We should have the sale rolling out tonight. Its going to be lower than the posted prices right now and should run for a day or so. I will get all the info up in a new post shortly.

Does anyone have a picture of what these lights look like on? I have been considering buying some but I wonder if I should go with the vision plus ones or the E codes. Since the light isn't dispersed up at all am I going to have a harder time reading signs on back roads? Just a thought.

Also does rennbay do paypal orders like 944online?

So say I forget to take out the 90/130W bulbs out after off roading my 944... Will the light be blinding/bright enough that I might bother someone that could possibly be a police officer?

Hope it's a realy good price. I got the ones for my last car at Susquehanna MotorSports. Their price has gone up about $15 since I ordered them. I need a set for the 951 and would rather purchase from a rennlister if the price was at least close.

You can check out with paypal through the website. There is an option for that after you complete your order.

I grabbed these off of the Miata forum. Its been raining like crazy here or I would take pictures myself.

These are the same Hella E-code lenses as we have. One is the low beams, other is the high beams and the third is an on road shot of the low beams.

Check out the write-up. Its quite in depth. I believe those are taken with the standard 55/60w bulbs as well. If you look at the low beams you can see why you can run a much higer wattage bulb without blinding oncoming traffic. The cutoff is amazing.
