How can someone not notice?
I had to post this because I found it funny in a scary way.
I was checking out the new to me S2 this weekend. Pulled the front tire off and noticed it was an 8J X 16. Pulled the rear and noticed the same. I thought Great I have 8's all around. I just picked up a set of 8 X 16 x 4 for autocross and now I figurd I had 2 sets.
So I went to the drivers side and pulled the tires off only to find I had 7's on one side and 8's on the other. The fronts were running 205's and rears 225's. The PO had these tires mounted on the car when he first bought it in 1997. So he has been driving around all these years with 7's on one side and 8's on the other. I guess he did a lot of left hand turns.
Found it funny while driving the car back last weekend that she would drift on the right hand turns but was relatively stable on the left turns. Now I know why.

See, even with your impressive P-Car stable, you HAVEN'T seen everything yet!

I've seen cars on evilbay where it's pretty easy to see the rears are on the fronts. Doesn't happen often, but I've seen it more than once.
You just have to figure if the PO was so clueless as to not get that straight, the rest of the car is a total crap shoot. Good luck and I hope you don't discover too many more gems of the PO's brilliance.

So far so good on any other bonehead stunts. Good thing he only drove the car 10k miles in 9 years. Otherwise who knows what I would find. The only other problem I found was the MSD ignition they installed by placing it next to the battery without securing it. Otherwise the cars a gem.

Awsome cicle-track setup!!
On a bit more serious note, you might want to check your alignment or at least the tire diameters. If the car tracked straight with the staggered setup, it might not go straight with the correct wheel locations.

Same thing on my previous 951. I was looking it over after getting it home and realized the lip was pretty big on the front wheel, and realized someone had both rear wheels on the driver's side. It was quickly fixed the next day.
