Default A/C Question

The A/C on my baby is not working. Which is a bad thing cause I live in Texas. As much as I love 250 air (two windows, 50 mph), A/C would be great. The guy I bought the car from said the system just needed to be recharged. It's an 88, and I've been told it should be the R-12 system. I was told about Freeze 12, and from what I've heard it's the perfectly replacement instead of R-12. They also happen to offer an Quick Charge Kit

Has anyone used this product before? Good, bad, waste of money? Would the kit be good enough for what I need (no cold air what so ever)?

it used to be a buck a pound in mexico for r-12. not sure how far bliss's from mexico.

like r-12, you need to be certified for r-12 and these others to buy it.
even on ebay, some want a copy of certification to sell to you.

i've never used dura cool, freeze 12 but use search for some other comments.
