Default Engine hoist + engine stand

Anybody in the tampa area have an engine hoist? Seems like most places want $20/day to rent, which is 1/10 the value of the hoist. I also need an engine stand, which is more like 1/5 the value to rent. So, in short, the market rates are such that I might as well just buy one so I have them for-ev-ver, or borrow because I really don't want to rent for those rates. Particularly since I am not sure when the engine will be done, and may not get done for installation.

Will be checking here every once in a while.

I bought for just that reason. Paid less than $200 for both. The hoist has already r&r'ed 3 engines in just over a year. Two were mine, one a fellow lister. I guess it's paid for itself already.

Well Michele said it. Well I just bought an engine hoist. Travis @ rennbay convinced me.

My dad and I decided we can use for other purposes too. You can just drink beer and then lift each other up by their pant loops and spin them around. And they say education makes a man more "cultured." HA!

Still need an engine stand, but I will probably just buy that too.

I have many.

75ohm is a bastard, and I my brain hurts from too much pb blaster.
I kid, I kid. I have gotten pretty far. Most of the top is taken apart to get access to the exhaust bolts and the radiator just came out. Good thing I have taken this pile of *** apart before.

It is pretty hot outside.

I have to come in about every 2 hours too make sure I don't get too hot. I am honestly having so much fun taking this thing apart. Might be able to lift it out tomorrow... *crossing fingers*

Not sure why, but my last post did not get on here. I have a hoist to sell cheap if you are interested. I am moving and wont have room in my new house to store it. I am a little far to borrow it, but to buy it you might not mind making the drive. I am in Deland FL. I would rather have someone here get it than let someone have it at a yardsale.

John already bought a stand, but thanks for the offer. Car is currently under the wrench and hopefully I will have the motor out by late tomorrow afternoon.
