Need ideas for packing seats for shipping
I have just sold a pair of Recaro SRD seats and need to ship them via UPS. I need a box that is 23x25x37 and having a tough time finding anything that size. Anyone have any ideas for where to find bigger boxes such as this or any creative ways to pack seats for shipping?
Thanks,
Thanks,

You could wrap the seats in bubble wrap (the large type of bubble wrap). Bubble wrap the hardware and strap it to the seats, then wrap the whole thing.

Build a box from 1x2" and 2X2" pieces of wood. Wrap the seats in bubble wrap and some type of heavy duty plastic. Put the seats in the box you built. Staple pieces of cardboard boxes on the outside leaving one side exposed. Fill the esposed side with styrofoam peanuts or paper to make sure the seats dont move. Lastly, seal the remaining side. Cheap and very durable box for prob under $20.

That's why I kept the boxes my recaro seats came in. Maybe go to a large company that gets alot of stuff shipped to them, they may have boxes they're willing to just give you.

Well, we are in a flood watch up here, so hopefully there will be no high water. You and I have way too much invested in this transaction to have anything happen to the seats! (yes, that was an inside joke)
Thank you!
Thank you!

I have received two Sparco seats via UPS in the last two weeks. The first Evo came from OG racing, and was simply laid on it's back in a large rectangular cardboard box. It had been a demo model, and wasn't wrapped or anything. It arrived just fine.
The second Rev came from a private ebay seller, who shipped the seat in a SubeSports box that looks specially made for seats. Instead of a rectangular shape, it was cut on an angle across the top, sort of a parallelogram shape. It held the seat nice and firm with no shifting. The seat was wrapped only in Sparco's plastic bag, and it arrived fine as well. I still have this box if anyone wants a pic.
Moral of the story, these seats are pretty durable, which is good, being FIA certified and all. You just need a box big enough. The seats are very light for their size and won't really stress the box. Any moving store (Uhaul, Self Storage) sells boxes like these.

i think u hauls garment hangar boxes fit your needs if you want to send them in one piece. i think it is easier to break the seats into two parts.
