Default What are the symptoms of an exhaust leak

As the title says, what are the symptoms of an exhaust leak in the vicinity of the exhaust headers?

You can usually hear it, feel it, and if it's been happening long enough you will get some (not a lot) soot in the area. They tend to be more pronounced when a car is cold.

Start the car and while it's cold run your hands around the header (or close to it) and you should feel the exhaust escaping.

Will the car run rough at idle? Lose power? Symptoms like that?

It could depending on the size of the leak but it would have to be a decent sized leak.
