I'll have some pictures of leather and the air bag version by Tuesday or sooner. The early version is giving us a hard time. We're trying to use as few seams as possible yet have it fit and look good which is a balancing act. It'll be another week or so before I have anything definitive.

It takes a lot of time and patience to get a truly professional looking dash by recovering it. The substrate must be repaired and all edges smooth. I add a layer of polyethylene to reinforce the foam and to assure I have a smooth surface. Polyethylene also holds up to temperature changes and cracking. Trimming the vent section is quite difficult. I'd suggest having me do it or taking it to a professional trim shop in your area.
The lower section, glove box and console are easier to install since they do not normally require rebuilding and have less trimming. You may not need a pro to do those.

Alcantara doesn't stretch like vinyl or leather so a bottom section in Alcantara will have to be stitched.
The stitching will be deck seams like the original Porsche leather is done.

If you want to cover the lower section I'd suggest seams with vinyl and leather too. It looks a lot better and its much easier to install.

My sincere thanks to Robby, Greg, and Vic who provided help with the prototypes and feedback. Without their help, I would have been driving blind and 944 dashes would continue to deteriorate.

I'm eager to see pictures of the early dash. Based on your previous work, I'm not at all anxious about the aesthetic of the final product. I'm certain it will look tremendous to us "naive" folk! (I don't stare at fabrics / materials and cover dashes daily!)

Hey Rob- I just sent you an e-mail... I hadn't yet read all the way to the bottom of your last reply... Glad to have helped- always fun to be even slightly involved in things like this- I've had plenty of help from plenty of people here, so it's good to be helpful, even in the slightest way, to give something back every now & then... also, was a good learning experience when it comes to shipping...

As I asked in my e-mail, please post some pics of some of these options as you get them, when you can... I'm sure other's would love to see them- I know I would... At this point, &, the main reason for e-mailing you- I'm trying to decide on the stitchiing- kind of wonidering how it looks on the bottom parts & if I'm getting on top, if I need to do the bottom too to look it's best...?

Yes I did. The cover for the early dash is proving to be a bit of a challenge. But I expect to have something by the end of the coming week.

I'll also have pictures of the air bag dash and stitched bottom covers this week. Maybe the glove box and console too.

Wow, this is some very impressive work! I love the look of the stitching.

Finally, a solution that looks like an IMPROVEMENT over the original design, rather than an obvious coverup of a common problem.

My dash has no issues, but if it did I ****** up one of your kits in a flash.

Is there any way of fixing a dash that has the material pulling away at the bottom corner and the bottom corn of the glove box door. Also is there anyway of repairing very minor cracks or is it best to redo the whole thing?
