Default Starter, ground, ECU..

Ok, last week I finished up the clutch and today I finally got a chance to put the starter and last ground on.

Now, with the 2 larger wires coming from up over the bell housing are connected to the longer post on the starter, with the small red/black wire screwed into the right side terminal (underneath the ground from the starter to the solinoid (sp iknow) the starter doesn't move with the key. I've swapped the wires to the shorter post and the small wire to the left side terminal and still no dice. Is my wiring right?

I *did* attempt to crank without the bellhousing ground connected. Its bolted down on the bell housing, but no longer reaches the stud on the top of the firewall.. Why? I don't know, it is going in the straighest path (what a pain in the *** moving my hands in that area) and is ~ 1/2" from being on the stud.. This makes me afraid I ruined the ECU (based on posts I've searched with a similar problem) It has been awhile since I took it apart, so I'm not positive that is where the ground goes but I'm 99% sure thats where it goes.

Also, right behind the brake booster is a pair of 2 pin plugs (one male , one female) that I did not disconnect and are about 1" from each other and cannot come any closer. I've also seen this plug discussed in threads about starting problems....

those are those only things left to do and I'd really like to see if I didn't f*ck up the clutch/torque tube/ etc

That plug has to be connected. The larger red wire in it is the starter solenoid trigger, the smaller blue wire is for the alternator. Without that connected the starter wont spin and the alternator wont work.

I connected it 2 min after my post, had to "massage" the wiring.

Now there was a click then nothing...oh well tommorow ill finish it up...today just sucked with machines. Put my brothers accord backtogether after he rear ended someone and I swear to god I will never do body work again...started to paint my bike today too..

Anyone know anything about that ground??

Are you using the stock wires?

Can you post some pics of the ground? You wont get much in the way of starting without that ground from the bellhousing to the chassis...
