968s are rare, both on the road and in the junkyard, because of limited production, so parts are always a little harder to find. I think DeLoreans have more spare parts available.

Your car's acceleration will be very bad with a 968 6-speed. The gearing is matched to that of the torque curve and power band of the 968. 6th gear will be too tall for a 150 HP 944 and your car will struggle on acceleration in that final gear.

I have the opposite problem. With 300 to 400 RWHP I cannot shift fast enough under full accelleration. Since I seldom get a chance to drive the car at its limit, the 6-speed has actually significantly improved the drivability of the car on the street. I am finding it much easier to manage the turbo lag.
