I just installed my stock shifter after re-booting with a killer Wheelskins boot. To remove the ****:
Squeeze the bottom of the boot frame together, so it snaps out.
Pull the boot bottom up, so you expose the shaft of the shift ****.
On the shaft, there is a metal clip that resembles a bent paper clip--remove it.
Shift **** will slide right up and off.
Make sense?

Um step one get a large piece of meat or bag of pees out,

Step two pull damm hard

Step Three apply said meat of bag of pees to black eye.

Yeah just pull really hard and try not to hit ur head with it, it can take alot of force to get it off if its never been removed.
