I saw a 944 on the property (or just west) of Gingerman Raceway, near South Haven, Michigan. I was at the track last Friday. The car didn't look too bad from the side and at 50 ft/ 50 mph. If I needed another project - I might have stopped and taken a closer look.
By the looks of it - the car hasn't moved for a few months. Bet it could be had for a small fee and I'm sure you'd get a real project. Sorry it's so far from you and I don't have any contact info. I can identify, quite accurately, its location though.
