I have a 2.5" system on my N/A and I love it. I used a 2.5" CarSound (Magnaflow) cat, followed by a 4" round Magnaflow round in the centerpipe, and an oval Magnaflow at the rear. I would highly recommend TWO mufflers, as one will act as a resonator and improve the sound dramatically, while not adding any significant restriction (they are all straight-thru, not chambered).

I have the Flowmaster Super 40 on my car with 2.5" piping starting with the catalytic converter on back (Magnaflow 2.5" cat). I have to admit that it has a fairly nice tone from idle to 3,000 RPM. It tends to sound tinny (natural of a flowmaster since they have no fiberglass or steel wool packing) after 3,000 though, but the car sounds a lot meatier than the stock exhaust! I am happy with my purchase.

I had mine installed for 125 bucks.

prices vary where you go. Shop around and get some prices before making the purchase. Be vary weary of the way shops bend pipes. While a conventional bender is used for muffler piping, there are some hack jobs out there that literally KINK the damn pipe resulting in a high amount of turbulence in exhaust flow. Mandrel bending of course is highly recommended.

I know that Flowmaster doesn't make a catback for a 944. Borla doesn't either. Many applications are universal mufflers and piping bent to adapt to the 944. Speed Force Racing makes a catback using a bullet muffler for 944s. It's all stainless steel. www.speedforceracing.com Tim's a good guy and his quality is superior.

It is oval. I don't remember what model I have, I will try to look today. I just welded it in place of the muffler and left the factory resonator in place. It would be to loud without it.

I went with the Magnaflow the problem that I ran into with this Magnaflow was being able to use the stock hanger it would not work so the guy welded it to the car so yah becareful of the shops I imagine someday I will have to get it out of the way so it will have to be cut off Also be ready for the noise they are louder around town but cruising on hwy same as stock. The stock muffler is also very heavy compared to the Magnaflow.Heres a couple of pictures.

Yeah, I see. The problem I think is that you went with the dual out model. So they couldn't use the stock mounting points from the single outlet pipe. Looks nice though.

I'm thinking of going with a Carsound Cat. Does anyone know the correct model to use?
