I wasn't sure what the current injector duty cycle looked like; it could be that there was room for it. I also didnt check the exact stoich ratio of meth.. I assumed it to be more around 8 or 9.

"methanol makes about 10% more specific power per air mass then gasoline. "

I read methanol has HALF of the power/BTU rate of gasoline...???

You would also need a HUGE fuel tank or fill up twice as frequently since you'll get about half the miles per tank.

When I used to race methanol karts, I was told It will corrode the AL, but I don't know how aggressively. I had to flush the system out by running gas through it at the end of the day.

True - this would be for a track/specialty application, not a daily driver. I'd probably opt for fuel cells as well.

yeah i think your right. it has less power per peice of fuel but since so much of it gets burned it actually makes more.
i think he means when all is said and done that once the engine is on and all that methanol is in there that it makes more power. idk..i quoted.

he does say per AIR mass...so it makes since.

You also typically run rich to the point where the excess methanol cools the cylinders resulting in overall cooler operation even though the combustion temperature might be higher. This is what I'm being told in another forum anyway.
