I recently replaced mine with the universal 3 wire from Paragon. Splicing the wires was no big deal, I think the whole thing took maybe an hour. Well worth the cost savings for sure and the car runs and idles well and, more importanly, passed a recent smog test with flying colors.

yeah. porsche really could have made it easier by putting it in at a 90deg angle. like facing the passenger side. my friends 318is is like that. so much easier to change. i had to drop the exhaust, thats why it took me so long, i was being lazy.
but im getting almost a third as many miles a tank. i bet i could get more than 500 is i drove slower.

I get maybe 380-400 miles per tank (350 and the light comes on) and the O2 sensor was replaced under a year ago. Any other things to check? I don't drive fast - maybe 65mph, mostly highway miles.

Hahaha, I have you guys all beat, I get 11mpg in my 951. I know trucks that get better mileage.
Except for the road trip back right when I bought it, I've never beaten 300 miles to a tank.
I know my O2 sensor is shot (from all of the oil I was burning probably), but I want to run an other can of seafoam through it before I buy a new one.

I had to take my exhaust to an exhaust shop to have them pull it out. Try heating it with a torch.
The threads were completely stripped and had to be retapped. I think it was a "spark plug" tap, though I don't have it with me at school so I can't check size and thread pitch.

theres a special tool that you attach to an impact hammer to get them out, sometimes that doesnt even work, at my shop we had to take the pipe out and heat it with a torch to remove it...pain in the butt

my dad had bought a o2sensor remover which is a deep socket with a cutout for the wires. it had hardened chromolly steel or something like that stamped on the side. looked beastly. i bent the thing 45deg. trying to get my sensor out. lol.
dropping the exhaust and using the impact wrench got it out. all the threads on the sensor where toast...
btw...190,063miles! fresh oil and more coolant!
bring on 200,000!
