The trim is essentially wedged into place by the clips. The trim pulls straight up. I didn't get how the clips held it in place until I started pulling the trim off. I should get a photo of the trim so it's more apparent.

I couldn't tell you if you can see the belly pan from the front of the car. I think it was the very first thing I removed from the car (I bought it straight and complete from a small bone yard). I had to work it a bit to get some dents out and get a couple of the louvers right. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I have a few things I still want to clean up a bit. Once we have our compressor running I'll probably brush the surface a bit too.

Damn! Looks like your really getting into her alright!

I knew you'd figure out what I was talking about once ya got going on it. Glad it helped!

I've never put a windshield in, myself, butt, for what its worth, I doubt it would be a real big deal, if ya have a couple of extra hands to place it in with, and got a pretty good idea of what size ribbon seal to put down on that frame first.

Your even taking the undercoating off under there too! Wow! I bet that was a PITA. Have fun!

How are those wheel dollies? Is it easy to move the car on them?

Since it's a race car, I've also toyed with not bonding it and holding it in place with clips - brackets that are screwed into the coachwork, to keep the windshield in place yet make it easier to swap out.

The undercoating in the wheel wells was a pain - more than I thought it would be. I didn't scrape it off the bottom because it's low weight (can't get any lower).

I'm getting itchy to paint this thing.

I'm also refurbishing the wiring harness. I'm going to start on that this week.

They work great. Initially it takes a bit of oomph because you have to get all the wheels pointed in the correct direction, but once that happens it's pretty easy to move by myself. Worth every penny - $40 at Northern.

Both our 944s came with the aluminium belly pans. My mom's car still has it on, but I kept mine off because I got lazy.

Here's a pic of my belly pan:

And here's a pic of the pan on the car (since Steve asked for one :P ):

Good pic!

BTW, you should install that belly pan. It promotes better cooling.

George, why are you going to put a glass window in it? I figured since it was your track car you would just use lexan.

The rules do not allow Lexan.

Best of luck on the paint job. I hear it's pretty straightforward, and one gets the hang of it quickly, so I'm sure your car will look really nice when you're done with it. And I'll install that belly pan next time I have my 944 on ramps.

Thanks Arash - Now I know what it looks like on the car, reminds me of the bunny with the pancake on his head
