I have a line on a 88.5 944 with cloth seats.. I am just curious if the cloth seats are worth anything?

Anything is worth something if it's in good condition. Perfect cloth seats would likely fetch more $$$ than beat-to-hell, ripped leather ones, IMO.

If they are in good condition then thwy would probably be worth some coin. They won't be worth what leather sport seats are that is for sure. It is hard to find those cloth seats without tears in them. Hope the car works out well for you.

Cloth is a blessing in disguise. My car has cloth sport seats and they hold you in far better than leather. That said, I'm going to be replacing them, because the German cloth patterns in the early '80s are a little wacky for my liking.

Strange.. I had the exact opposite experience. (I assume by "cloth seats" you mean the Porsche script seats which are part cloth and part vinyl). A couple of years ago when I was looking for seats for my 944 to replace the ratty old leather seats, I looked at quite a few cars in the process of being parted. It was rare for me to find the full leather seats without tears in them. On the other hand, i found many 924S's with the cloth/vinyl combo seats in nearly perfect condition. I finally settled on a great pair of the cloth/vinyl Porsche-script seats and haven't looked back since.

My 944 has the cloth (linen) seats with the porsche script pattern. The seats don't show any signs of wear, but they are a little stained. These seats are VEEEERY comfortable, and I don't slide around in these seats at all. Very nice for twisties, and for daily driving! Only downside: they don't look good now.

My mom's 944 has full leather seats. They aren't stained, but they are ripped, cracked, and worn. They are firmer than the cloth, and comfy in their own right, but not as good for long drives. Downside to leather: cracks and rips after time.

My 968 has leather sport seats. The shape holds me well, but the silky leather makes me slip around sometimes. Not very cushiony, so sometimes harsh for daily driving, but I sure get that luxury sports feel.

Verdict: I think nice clean cloth seats are worth as much as leather seats in OK condition, but personally I think they should be worth more.
