Opinions needed, front wheel bearing replacement
Doing the front wheel bearings, amongst a myriad of other items... using a nice set of brass drift punches, I took my time and knocked out the inner bearing race. I don't believe that any of my effort caused my concern. Apparently the PO had this done before as this is what I found. I am asking for opinions on forging forward with the race replacement. I am wishing to remove the burr prior to race replacement so that I know for sure that the race is seated correctly. What do you think? Careful use of a rotary tool extension with an appropriate attachment? Thanks for your time!

Yep, ya wanna remove any burrs that may cause the race NOT to seat properly. Your method should work just fine if done carefully and methodically (no worry). Flatten all machined surfaces. No burrs allowed. I've done the same, or used a file (specialty ones) to remove burrs like such.
SCREW that "heat the hub up" method of replacing these races. Not needed, no more than any other front wheel bearing hubs. If you have a tight fit (AND YOU SHOULD ON THESE OUTTER RACES), a little anti-seize compound on the mating surfaces, driving the outter races in as evenly as possible with those brass punches, should do just fine. New seals SHOULD be installed also.
Are you only replacing the ONE bearing and inner/outter races on that hub? If so, WHY only the one. Your there, why not replace and repack both? They SURE are not that expensive. If one was "shot"........the other is probably not far behind. Butt then again....its your call.

Thanks for the quick responses. Granite, both sides of the car, both inner and outer bearings. Just making notation of the issue I have with that burr. New seals as well!
