944CS,
I would very much like to see the different snorkel. I posted the picture out of the Porsche '89MY update manual. Several owners said they had the "normal" snorkel. This has made me have doubt about the other trivia in the manual.

TIA,
Lou

You got a sweet deal! Congrats... if I didn't already have a 944 - 3 cars and a two-car garage - I would have snapped it up!

Nice car - great price. IMHO, if you're gonna get an 8-valve non-turbo 944, the 2.7 is the one to get.

Thanks for the snorkel picture, you have redeemed me. I wonder if the change was a result of cars hydro locking from rain water being taken in? I was actually thinking of drilling some half inch holes in the bottom of the tube to let water run out before being ingested by the engine.

On second thought if that was the reason why didn't they do the same thing on the turbo??

I believe the factory fix was to completely remove the snorkel altogether. I don't see how someone could get a significant amount of water in the 1st generation snorkel and not in the second....i mean, the water had to be DEEP, we aren't talking about just driving in the rain
