Default 225/45/17 on Front

Can I run 225/45/17 on the front of my S2 without any issues. The one thing that worries me is the bigger tire will throw more crap down the side of my car because it seems the 205/50/17 already do this to an extent.

Yours is late offset but up front I run 255-40/17 on 9" without problems. You should be fine, maybe a bit tall in a 45 though.

I run 225-45/17 on front of my car and 255-40/17 on the rear. No problems.

You can run 255/40 17 on 9" wheels without any issues whatsoever assuming that you have a little camber - say 2 degrees. You can run 275/40's but it gets a little tight and you may need to roll the lips - though I've only seen this on track cars that are running 3+ degrees of camber.

I've been lucky, I run stock camber on the front. The 255-40/17 fits well with the offset of the CCW's, anything larger would rub on mine without rolling the lip I'm sure. 275-40 up front would be quite a load for street driving but I bet they are fun at the track!

Which is why you need to run -3.5 or more ;-)

Are those your CCW's in your avatar? If so, they have considerably less offset than stock (probably 40mm or less), which moves the wheels outward relative to stock by about 3/4 of an inch or so. So you will have some reduced clearance.

For example - my Fikse's were built to 43mm as it gives a bit of a wider track = better handling in the corners
