Default Overheating Diagnositic confirms HG failure

Ok Clint, you were right. It was HG failure. The leakdown test pressurized my cooling system on the last cylinder (#4, I think). Time to take everything apart. Damn!

OUCH! I feel your pain! Do you have an 8v or 16v?
Be careful, there are ALOT of "while your in there's" when taking off the head. I spent almost a grand after it was all said and done. However, that included waterpump, belts, rollers, seals, misc. hoses and gaskets. Don't forget oil, filter and coolant. Then you can get into making everything pretty. $$$$
Oh, that also doesn't include the parts I bought before! On the bright side, my entire cooling system is brand spanking new ! On the not so bright side, the Porsche savings account is empty.

Good luck!

Interesting. Why is it that #4 fails so often?....
It seems like every time I hear of a bad head gasket it's always #4.
