I am in this year...

But for making the track day go off... has anyone thought about getting sponsor dollars? That is what made our Rennstock event this year go was money from our sponsors. Total was about $1k donated from all of them combined and we couldn't have pulled it off without it.

Not bad, $2390.00 in the first 12 hours. This could be a reality!

I'm one of the few who wouldn't; don't get me wrong, it's a great price for the track time, but I don't really need any more time and I've never been thrilled about Nelson (just cause I'm picky)... and I don't need to burn up my tires either. That said, I still wish to attend (assuming the timing doesn't suck), and will be happy to put my money where my mouth is with paid admission...

Whether or not I'd be willing to drag the racecar that far, well, that's another question...

We are up to $3190 as of 11:00AM after 15 hours. This equals tons of track time and the base cost is covered. It is time for Dan P and I to talk again. Great job to everyone that stepped up to the plate.

The next step is to figure a way for people to pay in advance.

With more participants we could start driving down cost per driver or amenities up for everyone.

I'll be one of the peeps that needs an instructor and in the newbie crowd though

Thanks for the poll, Winslow. It is looking good so far. We'll talk..

Another item I am curious about is the experience levels. For those of you who posted you want to come and spend $100 for a track day, what kind of experience do you have? If we get 25 guys who are rookies and 4 instructors, We could have a BIG problem. Ideally we'd have 20 advanced drivers and 8 or 10 novice students. Please post again or edit your original post to show your experience level. thanks..

Is there a tentative date set for this yet? If it was mentioned, sorry but I missed it.

I'd bring my car down to Nelson for a $100 track day, but it would obviously depend on the date. Having it just prior to or after another DE would be a bonus to make dragging the car all that way more worth while.

Is this tying in with the 944Fest? (This is what I get for coming in mid-conversation.)

Jim, Yes..we are thinking about tying in to the 944fest, tenatively Aug 4th, a Friday track day and then Aug 5th do driving and Fest type activities. We talked about it over in this thread:
Starts at post #42

(thanks skip)
Yes, the PCA has Nelsons for a DE Aug 5th and 6th. We could watch them, or join them, or leave the track for out and about. It is all up in the air right now.
