Default I'm not driving the Porsche hard enough...

I've had this car for six years and 30k miles.

As I was checking over things to make sure it's all good to go for inspection, it occurs to me that the Michelin Pilot MXX3 225/50ZR-16s I have on the back (and came with the car) still aren't quite worn yet. I also still haven't replaced the front pads.

Yes, they are low and probably won't make it another year. But still, I can't help but think that I'm not driving the car hard enough.

OK, not really. I don't like flogging cars on the street. I guess this really means I need to get back to autocrossing!

I always try to get up to the speed limit as fast as possible.

Before everyone else.

try an autocross/DE event - that'll help.... or just watch "Gone in 60 Seconds" every day before you leave home

Yeah, I really want to get back into those events. Autocrossing will be pretty easy, but by the time I can afford to start hitting the DEs again, I'll probably have another 944 soley for that purpose.

your miata would make a far better track car then your 944 ever will.

Quite possibly. However, I just want to do it with a Porsche.

Is this a Miata forum, or a 944 forum? I'm starting to forget...

In all honesty, I've gone back and forth over the merits of both of these cars. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I also have to admit that the Miata will probably make a more cost-effective track flogger than the 8v na 944.

One way or another I hope to pick up a third car this time next year. It somewhat annoys me that I "have" to do this, considering I already own two cars that are perfectly capable of doing autocrosses and DEs. Unfortunately, the Miata is my daily driver and I really don't want to make it any less capable of performing that role (including going through snow, so I need what little ground clearance I've got!) and the 944 is just too clean to beat the crap out of.

There, I said it. I'm so ashamed.

Still though, I love my Porsches and that's what I want for this project. In this case, the heart will override everything else.

Oddly enough, I have had far more women compliment the Miata and ask for rides than the Porsche. The Porsche, on the other hand, seems to attract guys. Which is really the better "gay car"...?

Brian, you can always borrow my 928S4 but you know the drill, you break it you fix it. That is not at your leisure either.

JK, you know the rule, you would have to get it towed back to my place till we got around to working on it between

See ya this weekend!

Wait... we worked on the cars???

BTW, whenever I get around to putting on that ported head, are you up for lending a hand (and drinking beer) if you're available? Also, Tracey really is itching to see John. I think her maternal instinct is in overdrive!
