They're all 4x6. The front doors are REAL shallow - hard to find replacements for.
The rears you have to either remove the rear quarter windows or just pry the panel back as far as it will let you like I did and have small hands to remove the old speaker and replace it. There is a way to replace those with a 6 1/2" speaker if you search for it. I put some Boston Acoustics in mine and the fronts needed a spacer cause they just didn't really fit, but the backs worked nicely.
Oh, and unless the car has been modified, there's only 4.

I got Alpine S406 to fit in the door, but with a bit of coaxing - I had to remove a spacer from the speaker and tighten the grill carefully so as not to break it. I later added a small spacer between the speaker and the grill to help support the grill. It looks OK, but if you look close, you can see the gap between the grill and the door panel.
In back I think I went with some kind of Pioneers because they had a more substantial magnet, so I was expecting a little more bass. I forgot exactly which ones - I did that like 6 years ago.
I'm running everything with an Alpine head unit with CD, 40w/channel into 4 channels.
With that set up, the sound was never what I would call great, but once the speakers were upgraded, it did sound significantly better than stock.
Last year, I added a Bazooka tube sub woofer (their smallest one) and a seperate 80 watt amp to power it. I'm quite happy with what I have now. I don't go around shaking peoples windows, but the sound is pretty full and solid.
Since I put everything in a bit at a time, it didn't seem like I was spending that much, but once I add it all up, it does come up to quite a bit. The head unit was $200, another $200 for the speakers, another $200 for the sub and amp.
