Default Electrical Failure

So i get into my car, insert key, dash lights up, then when i go to the start possition with the key, everything just dies electrically, car doesnt turn over everything goes black, i checked the fuses and they were all fine, checked battery and of course it is fine. so i disconnect the negative lead on the battery, then reconnect it 30 seconds later. get back into the car, insert key, dash lights up and car starts... now wtf was that? its has never done that, and did not do that since!

BTW that was in my 88 924S

Check and clean the main negative ground cable. Don't just look at it pull it, clean it and the base then try again.

See if that helps. There aren't that many things on a 944 that can completely kill the negative grounding.

Maybe pull the fuse box and make sure that there is nothing shorting out under there.

i did notice that when i pulled the negative lead that it was already loose...thought that something like that might have happened. i thought it was ok though since it was obviously connected to it, but nonetheless that explains it. thanks
