Default This KILLS ME!

And its my own fault! I didn't do much of any research or checking!

I ordered this hose pictured below for my '83. I know its costing me a little more due to markup due to getting it from a vendor vs Porsche dealer direct, butt, it still kills me. I suppose I could have really cheaped out, and maybe fiqured out other options, like buying bulk hose, and fittings, and such. I just got lazy, and didn't want to deal with that kinda stuff, and won't settle for crappy water hose, and substandard crap anyway. I still didn't shop around much. I paid approx. $65.00 to get this delivered to my door. $57.00 for the hose itself! God that hurts! Especially, since all of my parts car hoses were toast also, so I couldn't use one of those!

Just venting!

I suppose some of you, can tell me of much better options, or better prices for this hose somewhere else! Live and learn, I guess.

Wow Ken, that's AWESOME! I always wanted one...now how do I use it?

Sorry to hear you got your wallet lightened.

Sincerely,

Is that the fool that goes under the intake J-boot?

Dang, $65 is a ripoff. If you were in a pinch, I guess it's not all that bad, but if you had time to wait you could have asked people here with parts cars... How bad was your old hose, or the hoses off your parts cars? Maybe you could have "spliced" on a new portion of generic fuel hose?

thats the one under the intake "plenum" area i think. maybe could have fabbed it up with some bends from napa or autozone, and put in some plastic "t"s, but they would probably crack really fast, since the metric sizes are a little off.

Yeah, just the cost of Porsche ownership, I guess. I just needed to whine for a second on the cost of that little peice of rubber hose. I'll get over it fast enough. I've got the heater going in my garage right now, and when it warms up a little more in there, I'll take my whine (and cheese), and go put the intake manifold and all those hoses back together, and consider myself lucky, that I'm not paying someone else to do all this for me.

Have a good day!!

Good attitude Ken, I liked my $8 lightbulb for the clock. That was really painful because the guy behind the parts counter kept telling there was no light bulb, the clock is LED. You gotta love a parts guy that knows a car that well.

AZS2, is it the hose that goes from the throttle body, under the intake and to the Air/Oil Seperator? I think I payed a bit under $60 for that hose.

We all get "hosed" on eBay from time to time.
