944S2 starts slowly after sitting for 8hours
Just installed a new battery last week in this beast and it still wants to start slowly after sitting for about 8hours, sometimes stall out the first time around, startup and die, try again and it starts but barely.
Something is draining my battery and I can not put my finger on it :S
As soon as I get to work I turn the car off and on again and on again, and boom fires over instantly, no problems.
Any possibilities what could be wrong here?
Perhaps a dieing alternator? I give up.
I will leave this one to the pros.
Thanks guys.

How olds the starter? My 951 really struggled to start even with a new battery. Got the starter rebuilt, and it would often start before I was finished turning the key.
I can give the the address of the shop near my house that rebuilt it. IIRC it was about $130 and very fast turn around, plus theyre open saturday and sunday.

You don't drive the car often enough
Or, it could be this: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hlight=battery (and a combination of other things).

Thing is, the car starts instantly after driving for about 15mins. It is like I have a brand new battery in the car. In your case I think the car would have a weak start all the time? regardless of driving for 15mins or did it seem to fire up faster after driving it?

My guess would be either 1) battery drain or 2) weak starter (so starts easily when the car is warm). Perhaps you can rule out 1) by measuring the voltage after the car's been sitting for 8hours.

Also you can disconnect the battery let the car sit for 8 hours. Then connect the battery and start. If it starts quick then the battery must be draining during 8 hours or sitting there. In this case you need to see what is draining the battery.
