True, but put it into perspective. Parts for new fords coming out of the factory are expensive...I did an intake plenum box in a ford E-line van and it cost a whole pile of money for a little plastic door that cracked.

Go buy any car from the 80's--it's going to need to be fixed often, and it will seem expensive only because of the cost of parts relative to the cost of the car.

Funny you mention this. My 2001 Taurus had the SAME damned problem. Cost me $1,000 to fix the damned thing! My wife didn't appreciate my "these Fords are way to expensive to fix--we should sell it and get another Porsche" comment!
