Hey Guys, sorry for leaving you guys without updates for the whole weekend.
my friend got the RX7 and he's bringing it, and the A4, Arash, your friend can come, we'll just stick him mid-pack so he cant do too much damage, lol.
i found a good meeting place, only 9 parking spots though. but if we can arrange the cars right, we can all get in there. if you look on google maps where 92 meets Skyline (35), there's a little overlook.
if someone with greater google maps skill can map this, it'll be much appreciated. i just downloaded google maps today and i dont know how to save the shot.
either way, all the roads look really good. pretty clear of bicyclists. i took redwood road near the san leandro reservoir, and it was PACKED with bikes, and maybe it's good for 2 or 3 cars, not 10+. these roads are perfect for what we're planning.
here's a pic of the meeting place, with gratuitous pics of the 951, rx7, and A4, of course.
we still have ~2 weeks to get everything together, so if someone from the bay area has a better place, it's more than welcome.
here's a "sunset" while i was driving.....pretty good for being on the highway and going 70mph, dont you think?
and, i also saw one of these. EXACTLY the same kind of off/pearl-white as my car, and it had an awesome sound.
sl951- you can bring a 911, as i've said before-
All Cars Are Invited
everyone can come, later during the week when everything is concrete, i will x-post in other forums.

This is gonna be fun
Juan,
Here are some pics of the meeting point you have selected. Is it a bad omen to start our ride next to the cemetary?? I finished the MBC install and kind of fixed the brakes but still having a little issue. Anyway I think I am ready......I hope everyone else will be as well.

Count me in as a maybe if I can figure out how to do this.
Last year, my wife and I rented a MB SLK in SoCal and joined up with some southern California Rennlisters and yes we were last in the pack. We drove nearly 365 miles that one day.
As fate would have it - I will be in SF for a business conference from Feb 25 thru Mar 2.
If we dont join this fun run, maybe we can do another one on Sunday 2/26.

So is the 18th the firm date? I'll have to see if I can get to retensioning belts before then, I'm at 2.5K now and everything sounds fine but I know how that goes. If I can't make this one I'll have to wait until we do the Berryessa-Clearlake run in late March. Not to rain on the parade but NWS is calling for rain Saturday...bad Ju-Ju for a Bay Area Run. Is it still on if it rains?

My bad, I stopped at page 3 A run on the 25th would be a good Birthday present to myself and give me a chance to sort a few things out on the car this weekend. I'll try and make it. This BA run thread is already at 6 pages and you haven't even gone anywhere yet. I guess I'll have to give up our local Sac runs or just be happy with our cowtown image. We do have the roads though

serge. bring the snow machine, it'll be awesome
steve, if you could come, that'd be great.
Yes, our date is the 25th of Febuary
Roger, thanks for making that map, i downloaded google maps, but since they dont have instructions in spanish, i cant make it all out, ( )
everyone else- let me know either by PM or by posting whether you're going or not. the date is the 25th, and the time is 8:30AM at the little overlook listed above where Highway 92 and Highway 35 (skyline blvd) meet.
When we go down the first part of skyline blvd, we need to keep it down. there are some big sweepers that even my 951 doesnt like if i'm not alert and the tires are warmed up. I'd HATE to lose someone in the first few minutes, so it'll be a good place for us to warm up the motors and tires.
this should be a good experience. a sac group should be leaving at around 6AM. and if all goes off w/o a hitch, this could be annual. or bi-annual.....or monthly! ok, that's too far
anyway-this is looking up. and it's 2 weeks from the drive, and there's 6 pages going.
yee haw.

Yeah I'm in for sure. Still debating about telling Joel to come... he thinks he can "tune" his FC to slap 968s, and just that mentality can lead to a situation where he tries to prove a point...
Motation, I hope the S2 is perfect.
Steve g, I'm up for an encore run on the 26th (at least, that's how I feel right now)!
