Default Looking for a black early 944 3 spoke steering wheel

anyone have one of these off of a parts car, or has anyone converted to momo wheel and still have their old one? ive been looking around and having trouble finding one. the reason im looking for a new one is that mine is shot (stitching coming undone), so it would need to be in decent shape. i have a good horn pad off my old wheel so if the one u have doesnt include it that is fine.

thanx

Chris, they're relatively easy to recover with a leather kit from someone like Alan Gun Leather Accessories "AGLA" for around $50.

Do a search on wheel recovering, I posted a write up awhile back. I did mine without removing the wheel from the car, so it can't be that hard.

yea but the thing is the plastic on the back is cracked too... i dont really want to throw money or labor at this paricular wheel. maybe if it was in better shape... but if worst comes to worse i will probably just try to restitch the leather that is on there. thanks for the suggestion tho.

i was watching that one right until the price skyrocketed out of there. i was hoping to find a wheel for a bit less $$, but maybe i cant idk. my dad pretty much doesnt want me spending that much on a steering wheel. come on people i kno at least one of u has an early style steering wheel with three spokes. but maybe they are just really rare? idk, at any rate if i cannot find the three spoke i would start considering the early style 4 spoke that was an option on these cars. mines an '83

ok well idk what happened, but i never got a new wheel. I went up to the hershey swap meet, bought a crappy wheel with a non cracked back for 10 bux, the leather is actually not as bad as mine though. Anyways the center section was broken off from the metal ring, which i saw. I transplanted the good parts from that one to my wheel. I took a look closer look at the place where the leather is coming off on my wheel, and found that the center section is actually broken away from the ring just like the crappy one i got at the swap. So now i have two sh*tty wheels, one good leather piece, one good horn pad, one good plastic backing, and one good horn ring. Just no wheel to put them on.

Will a 78' 911 3 spoke wheel fit on my 83' 944? It looks exactly the same from the front, but i cant see the back. Theres one on ebay im thinking about bidding on ending in an hour, please hurry with your responses. thanx in advance -chris

Edit: well, i got sniped with 2 secs left and it went for 18 bux, still would be good to know if it would work or not in case another comes up.
