Thanks for the reply on that Bill. Any idea as to how the radiators are different between the 944 turbo, 944 and 944S? I would assume a 944S2 it WOULD fit? Thanks again for clearing that up.

Yes - this group buy would be mostly/all 944 turbo radiators. I dont really know what the difference between N/A radiators, and turbo radiators, so I dont know if you can just simply use a turbo radiator on a non-turbo car. I'll trying finding specs on the different radiators if I can, and see what may be different. If someone else knows what is different, please post, becuase I am not really sure

It would have to be. Griffin does not have engineering to mass produce a 944 radiator. Only the Turbo radiator I prototyped with them.

The turbo radiators are larger via the length. They are longer, so the lower mount is in a different location. I have heard that if you have fabrication skills you could adapt to a 944, but I would not guarantee this. Also things like the fan shroud (longer) would need to be changed. And what ever else that I can not think of.

The Griffin radiators I had fabricated are a direct fit. They use aluminum side tanks that are the same size as stock but the aluminum dissipates heat better than plastic. The welded side tanks also eliminate the crimp/gasket connection and thus the usual failure point. Also Griffin revised the tube field to provide additional heat dissipation. Great company, great to deal with, highest quality. Too bad the 944 guys let this one pass them bye (or should I say buy).

Yep. I think there were a few of us in on the 951 radiator GB that bought it just because it was such a good deal.

According to those who responded to this thread that DO have 951s, it appears that there are about 8 interested buyers. If this DOES happen, and assuming the price isn't double what it was last time (just assuming worse case due to the difference in expected quantity), I'll probably purchase a spare for my 951. My Griffin radiator has worked SOOO well that I might just have to keep a spare on hand, in the event that something unfortunate/unforeseen might happen. Besides, there will always be someone else who could use it if I end up not needing.

So with that being the case, looks like we have 9 interested parties, at this time.

Anyone else looking to get a 951 replacement radiator, or a spare? The more folks that chime in, hopefully, the better the price. Keep replies to this thread, for tracking purposes.

If I could get it by mid-March, I would be in.

The design Griffin has is for a 944 Turbo, and I am told that the radiators are different between the NAs and the Turbos. So you would have fitment issues if you tried putting this radiator on an older NA, or an NA in general.

I dont think Griffin could do it by then - they told me that mid-march was when they could start-up a group buy (they have a huge order in right now). Scotty from Griffin told me to round up a number in the meantime, and if there is enough interest - he'll give us a discount - I cant say how much it will be, because he cant tell me until we have a solid number of people. I would assume that by first part of April we could have the radiators. I dont know that for sure - but thats when I am thinking they would be done.

Sorry I havent been keeping up on the thread lately - but I have finals this next week, so I've been pretty busy! But yes - it does look like we've got about 9, and if everyone actually does want one that have chimmed in, there is a pretty good chance we'll get a pretty good discount. I cant say anything official, but to ballpark a price for people - if ten people buy, expect around ~$450 maybe. Like I said - without Scotty giving me a number for sure, I cant be positive.

I will post another giving the names of all the people interested so far, and if anyone else is interested - let me know!

This is who I have so far - that apears to have a 951. Let me know if I missed anyone, or if anyone else is interested. Right now we do have 9, so the more the better it will be for all of us.

I might be interested, too, since my Heritage Motors radiator just failed me. If Heritage doesn't honor their work, then I might switch companies.

I've got a 968 turbo conversion and will have to see if the 944 turbo radiator from Griffin will fit.

Please let me know when you have a firm price. I am interested. Where is Griffin located? Do they have any hard numbers on flow and or cooling vs the stock radiator?

Bill
