Default Bad Heater Valve?

How do you diagnose a bad heater valve?
Last night, although running the A/C I only got warm air.
The heater clip is good to go. So I am thinking the heater valve may be bad. Am going to check A/C charge today.

Make sure when you turn the temp **** from hot (red) to cold (blue, amazing how that works) the mix motor that controls the flap which closes the vent from the heater, in fact turns and closes the vent. I'd also just check and make sure the compressor is running. You shouldn't be getting heat at all if the A/C is on, I would figure some cold air would make it though. If its none of the above, its beyond me.
