Default Any advice on cutting down height of shifter.

I love the driving position in the 944 and the whole shifter in general. I have a short shift kit and the throws are even better.

But, I think I would like to shorten the height of the shifter - maybe 2".
Has anyone ever thought about or attempted this? Would you shorten it from the **** or from the lever. I have swaped ***** before but dont recall exactly how the **** and lever interface or what could be easily shortened.

Any thoughts on a procedure or function would be appreciated.
I have a spare **** and boot coming from Jason's leftover parts and will be taking up the job shortly.

You can drop the floor height just under the bowl or there are lower profile models avai. . .

I wouldn't cut down the shift lever - that only puts the **** even further away from the steering wheel!

Yes, you can do it though. There is just a clip, which can be attached lower, that holds the **** on.
