I think my "R" bulb is already burned-out. Which is odd- because I always wanted to see it come on, but never let the gas go below 1/4 tank. Anybody know this?

Take it for a spin on a good onramp, see if you can get the light to come on.

If you can gas up at 1/4 tank it's a lot better. Gas gauges can get pretty random on older cars.

Don't let it get too low or else your fuel pump might go.

Didn't this happen to a RLer who had a sky blue 951? Or was that something else causing the no start?

I wouldn't want you having to go taking apart your car over some curiousity of yours. Can someone please verify that a fuel pump can go bad if you let the tank get too low?

Can vary a bit from car-to-car as well. My 944 always came in with just about 2.2 gals left. In my 968, more like 1.8 gals.
