and should it be connected to something? I was looking for my grounds and I came across this plug that was not connected to anything. The first picture shows the plug under the plug for the O2 sensor. The second pic shows the plug alone. I don't see anything that would plug into it.

That is your TDC sensor. It does not connect to anything. It just hangs out. If you follow it, you will see it right beside the reference and speed sensor.
