Shoppers beware!!
Be on the lookout for the King of Twits.... a Ted Borys of Warrensville, Il. Supposedly a multiple 951 owner.
I bought some rims off of Ebay through him. Paid damn good money and after months of messages, threats and delays the rims arrived bent to HELL.
Long story short, I actually bought them from a rather decent guy in Philly who had sold the rims to Ted. Ted didn't want them so he was to ship the rims to me. I paid Ted directly. It appears that Ted had ideas of keeping my money and parts that were owed to the original seller, that is until I threatened legal actions.
They arrived totally not like the Ebay pictures. The king of morons sent them in boxes without packaing material and UPS (rightfully so) says it's not their fault they were underpacked.
What do decent, hard working, honest people need to do in dealing with AS$HOLES like Ted? AND, where can I get these rims 'un-egged' on the east coast?
Thanks for letting me vent...

Almost as bad as someone shipping a $3500 race prepped block in a cardboard box. I just don't get it.
I take it he sent them without insurance? If it was insured, the shipper is supposed to make sure they are packed correctly. If they decided to ship as is, you should not take the hit to get them trued up.
Sorry for your troubles, and thanks for the heads up.

That damage is not from shipping, you can see the rubber marks on the wheels where the tire was smashed into the wheel as a result of impact. Think about it, if they hit something soooo hard that it bent them, it would have went through the cardboard(even a few layers) and chipped the paint on the wheels. I've done tire and wheel work, it takes quite a bit to hurt one.

Andy;
You are right.
The Ebay pictures may very well have been from a different set of rims, who knows. Obviously even and idiot can see that these things are gooned.
I've asked before if Ted is on the boards and got no response, so if anyone runs across his name in the Chicago area, procede with caution.
Thanks for some of the repair tips.

I've not been happy with the quality of wheel america's work as of late, but I have heard only good things about wheel collision center.

I'm sorry to hear about your deal going sour.
I did similar damage to a rim on my Acura after hitting a pothole near the George Washington Bridge in New York. The rim is cheap and it wouldnt be worth paying someone to fix it so I want to smack it with a hammer because air is escaping where the rim is bent. Any suggestiong? I was thinking of putting a wooden block on the damaged lip and hitting the block with a hammer to straighten the rim out. Please PM me suggestions to help keep this tread on topic.
