I had my car inspected by the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland, which is about as thourough and competent as you can get here. I paid a premium price because of the 'P-car" name. The bloody idiot picked up and marked down several mechanical items which I found later were just standard for the car. Various sounds and whines etc.
Get someone who knows these things to inspect it. If all else fails in your area ask the guys here. They WILL know a place.

hey that is a later syle steering wheel on that car. whats the deal with that? the early one looks better IMO. anyways go for it man, that thing looks excellent, just make sure u get the ppi first or u could be paying many times what u payed now later!

The 4-spoke was an option for all early years. It is superior.
That is a very clean car with a nice color combination. Ask for better pictures of the driver's side bolster.
<edit> Jeremy already mentioned the light panel issues.

I should have added an "IMHO" opinion to that. The 4 spokes I have owned were superior to the 3 spokes because they get the wheel out of your lap (not sure if that's a diameter issue or a spacing issue from the dash) and because they provide a better position to place your hands for driving in a spirited manner. You can grip the wheel and point your thumbs forward by simply resting them on the top two spokes on either side.
Again, YMMV. This has just always been the case for me. You should try them both

Looks like a very nice car. Looking at the front valence it looks like the previous owners cared about the car and did not run it up over the curbs while parking. For the price you stated earlier, jump all over that car!
